Atlanta-based Manufacturing Resources International announced that it has introduced its first full-size transparent digital LCD door for convenience and grocery stores. This high-performance digital LCD display replaces the entire conventional door glass with a transparent display assembly that allows for normal customer viewing of the product through the glass, but with the ability to run full-motion videos/advertisements/promotions in a “see-through” manner.
The new product was co-developed by MRI, the digital display manufacturer, and Commercial Refrigerator Door Company, a cooler door manufacturer, and is being marketed under the ThruVu product name by both companies.
According to Peter Kaszycki, VP of business development for MRI, “By introducing this new, eye-catching product, advertisers within c-stores now have a creative way to advertise and promote their products at the all important ‘point-of-purchase’ stage, just as the customer is making their final beverage or product selection from the cooler.

NETHERLANDS— ThirdSight, a developer of facial recognition technology, has launched a software development kit (SDK) to help outdoor media owners measure their audience reach.
The CrowdSight SDK is designed for use with digital signage displays which, when fitted with a standard USB web camera, can start recording and analysing the faces of those who pass by and look at the screen.ThirdSight says its technology can determine the age, gender and mood of the person looking at a screen, and gives screen owners the ability to adjust the information or media displayed based on the viewer’s characteristics.Other metrics collected by CrowdSight include total foot traffic, attention time, head pose, clothing style and colours, and repeat viewers.

JCM Global, a supplier of automated transactions and digital displays for the gaming industry, recently signed a global agreement with Four Winds Interactive, giving JCM customers the benefit of one-stop shopping for all of their digital signage needs. FWi is a Denver-based provider of digital signage software, and the new agreement will give JCM customers a convenient one-stop answer for digital display hardware, content development and content management software, according to a company announcement.
