Get creative with digital signage
Last week, I spent my winter vacation with my husband in Quebec, Canada, where we visited one of the most creative seasonal businesses that I have ever had the occasion to consider: a hotel constructed almost entirely of snow and ice, the Hotel de Glace.
Like many of you reading this commentary, this is a hotel run by entrepreneurs. In this case, someone who decided that creating what is essentially a fancy igloo near Quebec City could be a money-maker. He was right, and since 2001, roughly 500,000 visitors have stopped or stayed overnight (like I did) at the hotel during the roughly 10 weeks its doors are open.

DSE 2012 Extends Early Registration Discounts
Digital Signage Expo (DSE) announced today that early registration discounts for its March 6-9, 2012, Annual Educational Conference program will be extended through Wednesday, February 22.The early booking discounts are significant. En Route Media & Buzzr.in Join Hands To Showcase Deals
Three-year-old start-up En Route Media, which puts up smart screens inside radio taxis, has partnered with deal website Buzzr to bring the deals directly to passengers inside EasyCabs, through a digital entertainment network, called Flo.
Flo is a Tablet-like device embedded in cabs, spread across more than 250 EasyCabs plying in Mumbai.
Buzzr is powered by BuzzrPlatform, an aggregator of deal content in India. The website provides deals and offers in Mumbai among other cities.

Almo Pro A/V inks exclusive deal to distribute NanoLumens
Audiovisual distributor Almo Professional A/V announced today that it has been named the exclusive national distributor for NanoLumens Inc., manufacturer of “the world’s first line of ultra-slim and lightweight flexible and rigid LED displays for use in spaces previously impossible with traditional displays.”
NanoLumens displays will be shown in the Almo Pro A/V booth during Digital Signage Expo 2012 next month.
